A GUIDE TO OUR GOLD JEWELLERY

GOLD VERMEIL
Gold Vermeil (pronounced 'ver-may') offers a superior alternative to standard gold plating. This premium technique uses a 925 sterling silver base coated with a thick 2-3 micron layer of 18k gold. This process results in a luxurious and durable finish, designed to withstand everyday wear.

The difference between our gold vermeil jewellery and other brands is that we also use an e-coating to ensure quality and longevity.

GOLD PLATED
Our 18k gold-plated pieces typically use a brass metal base with a gold layer of at least 2 microns thick and e-coating, exceeding industry standards. Brass is a lighter weight option, which is better used for more statement pieces i.e. hoop earrings. Choosing gold plating for some particular pieces also allows us to provide these at a more accessible price point. Gold plating can serve as a more affordable alternative to gold vermeil, whilst still providing long-lasting wear when properly cared for.

The difference between our gold plated jewellery and other brands is that we also use an e-coating to ensure quality and longevity.

WHAT IS E-COATING
E-coating, aka electro deposition or electro-coating, uses an electrical current to cover a metal surface with an organic lacquer. The technique effectively covers every part of the jewellery piece so that it’s left with an even and consistent coat making our jewellery even longer-lasting and more durable for everyday wear.
